The Gilead Room at Yale

This magnificent room was created in Gilead nearly 250 years ago.  After about 80 years in storage since its removal from the house at 650 Gilead Street, the Gilead Room was recently unveiled to the public.   In 1930, Everett Meeks, the dean of Yale’s School of Fine Arts referred to it as "the finest Connecticut room I know of".  The hand carved summer beam, post and panels are the envy of all.  The Gilead Room is featured at the newly renovated Yale University Art Gallery.  For the room's life history and pictures, ... Membership Information

Membership in the Hebron Historical Society entitles you to receive all monthly meeting notices and/or newsletters, as well as attendance at our programs free of charge. If you have email, you can also receive updates on our programs and restoration efforts as they become available, if you desire.

Annual dues for Hebron Historical Society members are nominal. Individual dues are $8.00 per year; family dues are $10.00 per year. Lifetime Memberships are available for only $100.00.
